The Windows & Devices team is on a journey to deliver iconic
end-to-end products across hardware, software, and services that

building the next generation of the Windows Platform that
integrates the power of artificial intelligence (AI) and Azure into
Windows, enabling developers to build the AI-infused experiences
people want. Building this platform involves close collaboration
with teams from across Microsoft and our hardware ecosystem
partners. - -The Platform Architecture team in Windows & Devices is
on the lookout for a Silicon Platform Principal Software Engineer
dedicated to pioneering our new hardware Windows platform
initiatives. We seek engineers who not only bring a wealth of
experience and expertise but are also eager to dive into and
navigate the complexities of emerging technologies. As a Principal
Software Engineer, you will play an instrumental role in laying the
groundwork for the next generation of Windows devices, operating
within a dynamic hardware development landscape. Your
responsibilities will include the development of operating system
components, leading software architecture efforts for cutting-edge
hardware, and orchestrating platform design strategies from silicon
to cloud. This role is great for those looking to leave a mark on

every day.--- -Required/Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in
computer science, or related technical discipline AND 6+ years
software architecture and design experience with coding in
languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, or C#OR equivalent
experience.---3+ years' experience developing components for
Windows, Linux, real-time operating systems (RTOS) or similar
systems. -1+ year of experience with system level power and
performance analysis and OS fundamentals. -Additional or Preferred
Qualifications -Bachelor's degree in computer science, or related
technical discipline AND 10+ years software architecture and design
experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to,
C, C++, or C#OR master's degree in computer science or related
technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with
coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C# or
Java -OR equivalent experience--- -Demonstrated experience with
workload tracing tools such as---GPUView.--- -Demonstrated
experience with performance analysis tools such as---ARM
Development Studio---and---Snapdragon Profiler.------ -Ability to
quickly ramp up on complex and unfamiliar codebase,
and---work---across multiple teams to drive code quality and
performance. -Software Engineering IC5 - The typical base pay range
for this role across the U.S. is USD $133,600 - $256,800 per year.
There is a different range applicable to specific work locations,
within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan
area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is
USD $173,200 - $282,200 per year.Certain roles may be eligible for
