Job Description Job Description Senior Accountant (Non-CPA) Location: Seattle, WA (Hybrid) Schedule: Hybrid (3 days onsite / 2 days remote) Type: 9-month contract Compensation: $45-$55/hour (DOE) Job Summary Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations during a contract engagement. This role is ideal for a strong hands-on accountant who is confident owning the close process, preparing financials, and supporting audits-without the requirement of a CPA. The Senior Accountant will collaborate closely with Finance and Accounting leadership to ensure accurate and timely reporting. Key Responsibilities Manage and execute month-end and quarter-end close processes Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules Maintain general ledger accuracy and ensure compliance with GAAP Assist with financial statement preparation and internal reporting Support audits by preparing documentation and responding to auditor requests Analyze variances and investigate discrepancies Partner with cross-functional teams to improve accounting processes and controls Support ad hoc projects as needed (system implementations, clean-up work, reporting enhancements) Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 4-7 years of progressive accounting experience CPA not required Strong knowledge of GAAP and general ledger accounting Experience with month-end close and reconciliations Proficiency with ERP systems (NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, or similar preferred) Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas) Strong attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication and collaboration skills Nice to Have Experience in a mid-size or large corporate environment Prior contract or project-based accounting experience Exposure to process improvement or system implementations Benefits: LHH Recruitment Solutions benefit offerings include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits, and 401K plan.
