Job Description Job Description SmartHire is looking for a CNC Lathe Lead Machinist for a client in Sumner WA. Ideal candidate will have 5 years of CNC lathe machining experience AND 3 years of machine shop lead experience. Strong leadership skills and problem solving skills needed. This is a Full Time, Direct Hire role. Salary: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour. Job Summary Lead the CNC Lathe department in a manufacturing environment producing high-quality machined components for aerospace and defense applications. This role is responsible for hands-on machining, team leadership, and ensuring efficient, accurate, and on-time production. Job Duties & Essential Functions ·Set up and operate 2-axis and multi-axis CNC lathes with sub-spindle ·Lead and manage a production team of 1–3 employees across two shifts ·Oversee daily production schedules and department workflow ·Monitor efficiency, quality, and accuracy of all machining operations ·Ensure machines are running properly and producing quality parts ·Plan and organize fixturing and tooling per work orders ·Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring tools; provide guidance and improvement suggestions ·Communicate effectively with programming, tooling, scheduling, and management ·Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment ·Perform basic CNC lathe programming (MasterCAM) ·Update setup sheets ·Review and submit labor tickets, timecards, and work orders accurately Essential Qualifications ·3 years of machine shop lead experience ·5 years of CNC lathe machining experience ·Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and problem-solving skills ·Positive attitude, strong work ethic, team-oriented leader ·Excellent attendance and time management ·Ability to stand or sit for extended periods in a warehouse environment ·Strong verbal and written communication skills; fluent in English ·U.S. Citizen ·High School Diploma or GED SmartTalent is an Equal Opportunity Employer ?STHMG
