Ethernet Circuit Design and Provisioning Base Salary: $82,500 to

human communication. Job Summary The Senior Engineer, Ethernet
Circuit Design and Provisioning role will be focused on
implementing and verifying circuits from the customers premises to
the MEN network to provide Layer 2 and Layer 3 services. The role
is to design and provision Customer Ethernet circuits through
Ziply’s Ethernet network while completing daily M6 tasks. The
Senior Engineer will work closely with OSP, Broadband Engineering,
Transport Engineering, Planning and Project Managers. They are also
required to add and maintain accurate M6 circuit inventory records
and keep the IP and VLAN Netbox database records updated as needed.
Additionally, the Senior Engineer will work with outside
Technicians both internal and external to provide support in
turning up customer NID’s and will occasionally be required to work
with customers or their vendors to validate and resolve Test and
Turn up issues. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The

duties performed. Process Development & Operational Support ·
Develop understanding of current processes. · Participate in the
development of new processes where needed. · Create processes and
Process documentation that directly supports the circuit design
team. · Partner cross functionally to streamline delivery to
customers. · Manage M6 work queues efficiently and effectively. ·
Work escalations and high priority circuits as needed in a
fast-paced work environment. Circuit Design, Provisioning &
Technical Execution · Provision/Design INL (Inter Network Link), DL
(Direct Link - EIA), and CNL (Customer Network Link) circuits. ·
CLR/DLR/GLR creation of UNI and EVC circuits. · Work tasks by
accessing M6 system to provision and design customer circuits. ·
Access various web-based and GUI based programs that aide in the
daily function of design and provisioning in conjunction with M6
and Netbox. · Perform Layer 2 and 3 Provisioning in various
Ethernet Switches and Routers by remotely logging in to activate
Customer’s Ethernet services. · Provision customer NIDS by remotely
logging in and making them available for Layer 2 and Layer 3
services to be added. Technical Leadership & Subject Matter
Expertise · Provide Technical Design support to the circuit
provisioning designers to assist with creating a solution to
complex designs. · Circuit design subject matter Expert (SME) for
new design system rollouts. · Participate in network design review,
understand network standards and address network design errors.
Cross?Functional Collaboration, Training & Communication · Act as
Liaison between the access team and adjacent work teams that
support ISP engineering. · Assist with training of new resources. ·
Mentor/train less experienced personnel or other departments. ·
Effectively communicate with customers as needed. Work Schedule,
Availability & On?Call Support · Work flexible hours to satisfy
Customer demands. · Must be available to work regular business
hours Pacific Standard Time. · Must also be available to work
on-call, evenings and weekends as needed. Other Duties · Performs
other duties as required to support the business and evolving
organization. Required Qualifications: · Bachelor’s degree in
engineering, IT, or relevant field. · Minimum of five (5) years of
experience in Telecom Circuit Design and Ethernet Provisioning work
groups. · Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in Ethernet
networking (Routers, Switches). · Strong Circuit Design and
provisioning skill sets across all technologies with a primary
focus on Ethernet products. · Be able to meet or exceed design and
provisioning objectives set by management. · Desirable Skills: o
Knowledge of Varasett work orders. o Proficient at reading and
implementing work orders packages from Engineering. o M6 MetaSolve
Circuit Design, Network Systems and Equipment Inventory. o
Experience troubleshooting Network System issues within M6. o
Experience in Dynamics, NAE2, CXP and NETBOX preferred. o Strong
emphasis on Optical and Ethernet Circuit Design (ROADM, SONET, UNI,
EVC) o Creating EWO’s within M6 to support Customer Ethernet
orders. o Certifications a plus: CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, VoIP, MEF, UNIX
Preferred Qualifications: · Telecom or Broadband industry-specific
experience. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: · Ability to work

Network Protocol/layer; Ethernet, HDLC, PPP, MPLS, CDP, LLDP, IPv4,
IPv6, IP Sec, BGP, OSPF, TCP, IP, UDP, DNS, DHCP, FTP, HTTP, SSH,
SNMP, Telnet, TFTP, ATM, Frame Relay. · Working knowledge of Metro
Ethernet Standards service types: E-Line, E-LAN topologies ·
Working knowledge of EVPN, VPLS. IPVPN/MPLS, VoIP, Ethernet and
Dedicated Internet, Metro-Ethernet, T1/MLPPP. · Working knowledge
of Working Knowledge of customer premise Managed Router
Firewall/Security. · Working knowledge of Juniper and Cisco Network
Routing/Circuit Provisioning. · Working knowledge of Metro Ethernet
Standards service types: E-Line, E-LAN topologies. · In depth
knowledge of Quality of Service that addresses Service Level
Agreements specifically addresses Y.1564, Y173, and RFC 2544. ·
Understanding of various Ethernet products, EvPL, EIA, ELAN. ·
Experience with Layer 1 and 2 EMS Systems. · Familiarity of
transport equipment and types (Bonded Copper, Bonded T1, Ethernet
over SONET and SES over GPON). Will need troubleshooting skills to
assist in isolating Layer 1 related issues with central office and
or field technicians for new installation and change order
activity. · Working knowledge of different vendors and equipment: o
Alcatel-Lucent - 7210, 7450, 7750 o Adtran - TA5000, TA500x, 8044,
800 series NID’s
