As a Machine Operator/Machinist, you will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC mills, lathes, waterjets, and 5-axis routers, ensuring high-quality production. Responsibilities Operate and set up CNC mills, lathes, and other advanced machine centers. Perform basic troubleshooting and ensure the machine meets quality specifications. Understand and execute operations as outlined in shop order guidelines and VSW documentation. Use specialized measuring equipment such as the FARO Arm. Identify job-specific paperwork and its relevance to the process. Execute complex operations, setups, and techniques independently. Ensure parts meet print, specifications, and quality standards for approval. Diagnose and correct setup/run issues, including work holding/tooling errors and program errors. Train Level 2 and other Level 1 CNC Operators through on-the-job training. Perform rework on existing parts to ensure they meet drawing specifications. Essential Skills Minimum of 1 year of experience in CNC setup and operation. Proficiency in blueprint reading and machine operation. Understanding of G and M code. Advanced skills in troubleshooting and diagnosing machine issues. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with 4-axis Mill or 5-axis Router. Proficiency in advanced measuring equipment. Work Environment Work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to Phenolic dust, cooling fluids, odors, fumes, and noise. The role requires working on concrete floors with safety boots/shoes. Shift options include: Day shift (Tuesday - Friday, 6:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.) and Swing shift (Monday - Thursday, 5 p.m. – 3:30 a.m.). Swing shift employees will initially train during the day shift until they are up to speed. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Union Gap, WA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.88 - $24.88/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
