We're seeking a Software Engineer II to shape the tooling and infrastructure that power the next generation of scalable AI / ML and GenAI products at Remitly. In this role, you'll collaborate with AI / ML, Data science, Data, and Infrastructure teams to design systems that enable seamless AI / ML experimentation, training, deployment, serving, and evaluation. Your work will accelerate how quickly AI / ML ideas turn into customer impact—at a global scale. You'll report to the AI Platform Engineering Manager and play a critical role in building and scaling the foundation for Remitly's future AI-driven products. You Will: Design and build backend services in Go on AWS to support high-scale AI / ML workloads. Develop and enhance core AI / ML platform offerings—including Feature Store, ML Orchestration, and Model Deployment & Serving—with a focus on performance, reliability, and usability. Develop and deploy GenAI applications Partner closely with data scientists, ML engineers, and software engineers across multiple domains to deliver end-to-end solutions. Drive infrastructure optimization and automation, improving system scalability, reliability, and developer velocity. Collaborate with product managers and cross-functional teams to align engineering initiatives with product and business goals. You Have: 4 years of experience developing production applications, ideally in Go or Java. 1 years of experience working on platform and / or infrastructure teams. Experience deploying and maintaining containerized applications and supporting systems that utilize containerization Strong cross-team collaboration skills, with experience working directly with product and stakeholder partners. Experience building and operating core ML infrastructure (e.g., model serving, ML orchestration, feature stores, research environments) Experience with modern CI/CD tools and practices (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins). Compensation Details. The starting base salary range for this position is $152,000-$190,000. In Canada, Remitly employees are shareholders in our Company and equity is part of our total compensation plan.
