Our holistic model also extends assistance to shelter, energy, weatherization, HIV and AIDS counseling, home visits, and mobile medical/dental clinics.Explore our short clips, 'WE are Yakima - WE are Family' and 'YVFWC - And then we grew,' for a glimpse into our dedication to our communities, health, and families.What We Offer$20.81-$25.50/hour DOE with the ability to go higher for highly experienced candidatesAdditional Pay for your bilingual skillsAs a Lead Dental Assistant, you will have the opportunity to:Maintain medical records and vital signsConduct complete X-ray procedures and set up for examsRecord periodontal data, perform periodontal care, and administer nitrous oxideEducate on oral hygiene, assist with infection control, may help with orthodontics, along with other tasks as assignedMinimum Qualifications:High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)CPR CertificationBLS certificationSurgical Technologist Registration if assisting a Dentist in the operating roomDental Assistant Registration or EFDA certification within 7 days of hire. Dental Assistants who have not received their Dental Assistant registration from the State of Washington will not be allowed to perform the Essential Functions of the job until it is received. Prior to this time, a Dental Assistant will be allowed to observe patient care and assist with paperwork and receptionist roles only.Dental Assistant Registration must be completed within 7 days of hire unless specifically approved by the Clinic Administrator.Bilingual proficiency in English/Spanish required (level 10 for differential pay)Basic knowledge of medical/dental terminology, dental anatomy, dental materials/instruments, infection control techniques, and oral health care instructionAbility to perform four-handed dental assisting, including instrument transfer, oral evacuation, cement mixing, and spatulationStrong level of manual dexterity and coordination. Ability to effectively interact professionally with various patients of all ages and employeesBasic proficiency in an Electronic Dental Record (EDR), Microsoft Outlook, Word, and ExcelOur mission celebrates diversity.
