Job Description:
TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a
qualified PACU/Pre-Post Op RN in Seattle, Washington, 98101! Pay
Information $2,623 per week About The Position Job Title:
Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: PACU
(Post Anesthesia Care Unit) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 10H Day,
Evening Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of
inpatient PACU experience License: Valid Nursing License
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS Must-Have: Must have at least 2
years of inpatient PACU experience. Previous travel experience is
highly preferred. ICU experience is a bonus. Must be able to manage
two Phase 1 patients at once in a fast-paced environment. Must have
experience with pressors, airway support, extubated patients, chest
tubes, A-lines, PCA, PCEA, and complex pain management. Experience
with IV starts is required. Description: The PACU consists of three
separate areas with a combined bed capacity for pre-op and
recovery. On average, 66-80 cases are handled daily. Phase 1 and
Phase 2 care is provided, requiring travelers to staff both areas.
Nurse-to-patient ratios vary, with Phase I at 1:1 for high acuity
and for the first 30 minutes, then transitioning to 1:2. Phase II
has a ratio of 1:3. Stable bed waits are staffed at a ratio of 1:2.
Patient Care Technicians are available with a ratio of
approximately 1 PCT for every 3 RNs. Vented patients are not
recovered in the PACU, but non-vented patients are. RNs are
expected to read cardiac strips. The unit operates on a flexible
4-10 hour shift schedule from Monday to Friday with variable start
times. Call requirements include one instance every four weeks,
with a response time of 60 minutes. Floats may occur between three
designated areas as needed. The environment is fast-paced and
collaborative, requiring strong organizational skills and teamwork.
