FIRM Experience & Credential Requirements EPIC Experience: Required
– No exceptions NICU Experience: Minimum 2 years – Level II NICU
Certifications Required: NRP, BLS ,RN license Compact/WA Covid card
and 2 references Unit Profile Licensure Requirements: Strict
Policy: Candidates with any license hits related to medication
diversion or patient endangerment will not be considered. Discovery
of such will result in immediate contract cancellation . NICU
Level: Level II Bed Capacity: 20 total, with 12 typically staffed
Patient Ratios: 1:1–1:3, based on acuity and staffing Neonatologist
Coverage: Not on-site 24/7. ARNP/PA coverage available 24/7 Nurse
Aides: Not present on the unit Charge RN & House Supervisor: Both
available Patient Population & Common Diagnoses Gestational Age:
Down to 32 weeks or >1500 grams Diagnoses: Prematurity/Extreme
prematurity Bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) Hypoxic-ischemic
encephalopathy (HIE) Feeding intolerance Sepsis/Meningitis Neonatal
opioid withdrawal syndrome (NOWS/ESC) Respiratory support needs
Hyperbilirubinemia Skills & Equipment Required Skills: Care for
neonates ?32 weeks/1500g Competency with: Nasal cannula (NC),
High-flow NC (HFNC), CPAP, NAVA, Conventional ventilation
Experience using feeding pumps Titration Experience Required: Yes
Common Drips: BP medications, TPN/D10, Insulin Monitoring: RNs are
responsible for reading cardiac strips Telemetry and monitor techs
present Respiratory Equipment Available High-Frequency Oscillatory
Ventilation (HFOV) High-Frequency Jet Ventilation (HFJV)
Conventional ventilators CPAP, HFNC, NC Scheduling & Float Shifts:
3x12s per week; 4-week schedule blocks Weekends: May be scheduled
every weekend Holidays: Required – per contract need Call/Standby:
May be placed on standby if not needed Float Requirement: May float
to Pediatrics to care for NICU grads (up to 12 months old) May act
as 1:1 sitter for behavioral health patients in postpartum or
assist with well-baby care Other Information Dress Code: Royal Blue
