Neonatal Registered Nurse (Neonatal RN)/nJob Summary:/n A Neonatal
Registered Nurse (Neonatal RN) provides specialized care to newborn
infants, primarily those who are premature, critically ill, or
require intensive monitoring due to medical conditions. The
Neonatal RN focuses on supporting the health and well-being of
newborns in neonatal intensive care units (NICUs), ensuring their
safety, growth, and development. /n/nKey Responsibilities:/n /n -
Assess and monitor the health and stability of newborn infants in
NICU settings, including premature, ill, or high-risk babies. /n -
Administer medications, IV fluids, and medical treatments as
prescribed for neonatal patients. /n - Monitor and manage
ventilators, oxygen therapy, and other life support equipment as
needed. /n - Collaborate with neonatologists, pediatricians, and
other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care plans
for each newborn. /n - Provide emotional and educational support to
families of newborns, addressing their concerns and guiding them
through the neonatal care process. /n - Support parents in infant
care, including breastfeeding support, developmental care, and
providing guidance on infant safety. /n - Identify and respond to
complications such as respiratory distress, infections, jaundice,
and nutritional needs. /n - Document and maintain detailed patient
records, monitoring progress and treatment outcomes. /n -
Administer neonatal resuscitation, if needed, following established
protocols and guidelines. /n - Ensure infection control measures
and neonatal care protocols are followed to maintain patient
safety. /n - Educate families on the care and management of
newborns once they are discharged. /n /n/nQualifications:/n /n -
Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred;
Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) accepted. /n - Licensure:/n /n -
Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice. /n /n
/n - Certification:/n /n - Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
required. /n - Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
required. /n - Advanced Neonatal Care (RNC-NIC) certification
