Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a
Level III Trauma Emergency Department position requiring strong ED
skills and at least 2 years of experience. Responsibilities - Work
in a 46-bed Emergency Department within a Level III Trauma Center -
Care for diverse patient populations including trauma, STEMI,
stroke, DKA, mental health, respiratory, geriatric, and limited
pediatrics - Average daily census of approximately 200 patients
with high acuity cases - Nurse-to-patient ratios are typically
1:4-5 and may flex depending on acuity and staffing - Uses Epic for
charting, with additional equipment including Alaris, Pyxis, and
central/bedside telemetry monitoring (no tele tech) - 12-hour day
and mid shifts with occasional adjustment between days/mids or
mids/nights as needed - No floating required - Weekend scheduling
varies based on unit need - Holiday coverage required for 2 of 5
major holidays - No on-call requirement - Orientation consists of a
first day for onboarding and Epic training, plus time with an
educator and in key ED areas, followed by a 12-hour shift with
preceptor - Support staff includes ER techs, charge nurse,
float/resource nurse, respiratory therapist, ED educator, 24/7
security, house supervisor, social work, and pharmacy -
Professional attire required; any colored scrubs are allowed as
long as they are professional - Modest piercings and non-offensive
tattoos permitted per policy - Free parking available in designated
areas - Culture is fast paced, team-oriented, and traveler friendly
with opportunities for travel contract extension - First-time
travelers are welcome to apply Requirements - Active WA or Compact
RN license required; pending license may be considered with proof
of application - Minimum two years of Emergency Department RN
experience required - Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS,
TNCC, NIHSS, and CPI or MOAB - Proficiency in cardiac rhythm
interpretation, IV skills, basic ED drips and medication
administration, procedural sedation, blood administration, and
administration of cardiac/TNK medications preferred - Ability to
pass a Traveler Telemetry Competency exam prior to start Benefits -
