Team as a Locum Nurse Practitioner – General Medicine WA and Make a
Difference in Veterans’ Lives Are you a dedicated Nurse
Practitioner with a passion for serving those who have served our
nation? We are seeking experienced, motivated General Medicine
Providers to join our team on a flexible PRN basis, delivering
essential assessments for Veterans across multiple locations in
Washington State. This role offers the opportunity to contribute
meaningfully to veteran care while enjoying competitive
compensation and supportive team resources. What You’ll Do: •
Conduct Compensation & Pension Exams and Separation Health
Assessments across various VA locations, primarily through
interview-based evaluations supplemented by physical assessments
such as range of motion and muscle strength testing. • Perform
one-time non-treatment exams efficiently, with no prescribing or
ongoing treatment responsibilities. • Work remotely or from your
own office, with flexible scheduling options including half-day (4
hours) or full-day (8 hours) shifts, tailored to your availability.
• Complete exams in accordance with VA guidelines and submit
detailed reports within specified timeframes. Required Skills: •
Valid Nurse Practitioner license with current certification. •
Experience in family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic
surgery, or general medicine, especially with roles involving
assessments or P&C exams. • Strong interview skills, physical
assessment capability, and familiarity with VA procedures
preferred. • Excellent communication skills, attention to detail,
and ability to manage documentation accurately. Nice to Have
Skills: • Prior experience with Compensation & Pension exams or
model. • Knowledge of VA regulations and procedures. •
Certification in relevant clinical skills or additional specialty
areas. Preferred Education and Experience: • Bachelor’s or Master’s
degree in Nursing from an accredited institution. • At least one
year of clinical experience, ideally including veteran care or
assessment roles. • Proven ability to work independently and manage
multiple evaluations efficiently. Other Requirements: • Local
candidates only; travel is included in compensation rates. •
Willingness to complete required training, with a bonus incentive
for early completion and initial exams. • Ability to work in a
fast-paced environment with ongoing administrative responsibilities
requiring dedicated time outside of exam hours. • Must adhere to
all applicable state, federal, and local laws regarding licensure
and certification. Compensation & Benefits: • Hourly rate of
$402.00, with flat rates for half-day ($600) and full-day ($1200)
shifts. • One-time bonus of $650 upon completion of initial
training and first exams. • Weekly pay via direct deposit,
