Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for
a high-acuity Emergency Department position requiring Washington or
Compact licensure and advanced certifications. Responsibilities -
Work in a busy Emergency Department within a community hospital
setting - Level III trauma center with a 34-bed ED serving 200-250
patients daily - Care for patient populations ranging from neonate
to geriatric, including high acuity trauma, pediatric, cardiac,
stroke, behavioral health, and substance use cases - Patient ratios
typically 1:3-5 based on acuity, with specialized fast track and
zone setup - Day shifts are 12 hours, with shift times typically
7a-7p and weekend rotation every other weekend, with the
possibility of back-to-back weekends - No floating or on-call
requirements - Uses Epic EMR, with Epic experience strongly
preferred - Primary responsibilities include rapid assessment,
stabilization, and management of diverse emergency patients
including trauma, stroke (TNK administration), cardiac, pediatric,
and behavioral health cases - Must be able to assist with patient
transfers for neurosurgery, multi-system trauma, and high-acuity
pediatric cases - Required to wear scrubs of any color without
logos - Flexibility for shift times and weekend scheduling is
required - Candidates must demonstrate competency in hospital
triage protocols Requirements - Active WA or Compact RN license
required - Minimum 3 years of experience in a large volume,
high-acuity Emergency Department - Certifications required: BLS,
ACLS, NIHSS, PALS or ENPC, and TNCC - Triage experience required
and must pass hospital's triage test before performing triage
duties - Experience in barcode scanning medication administration,
blood product administration, medication drips, chest tube and art
line setup, managing trauma/code cases, splinting, bipap/vents, and
Point of Care Labs - Strong understanding of Emergency Severity
Index (ESI) - Pediatric emergency medicine experience highly
preferred - First-time travelers will not be considered Benefits -
