experience): $42.85 - $81.12 . Job Summary The RN is a professional
caregiver who provides skilled, compassionate care to patients with
a variety of medical conditions. The RN must be able to assess,
implement, and evaluate nursing care to a diverse group of patients
using sound critical thinking and decisive judgement in accordance
with approved policies, procedures, and protocols. Must have
specific and basic knowledge in the principle, methods and
techniques involved in nursing practice and the care of the patient
undergoing wound procedures and the acutely ill patient. Accepts
responsibility for maintaining and improving professional skills
essential to the area of clinical practice. Supports the mission
and values of Summit Pacific Medical Center (SPMC). Functions in
compliance with the Washington State Nurse Practice Act. The
Certified Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nurse (WOCN) provides
specialized, evidence-based care to patients with complex wounds
and ostomies. Job Duties and Responsibilities Administers
medication and treatments in accordance with education, experience,
and with approved nursing techniques. Provides physicians and other
members of the health care team with accurate and timely
information to promote continuity and excellence of care. Utilizes
nursing process in the assessment, care, and documentation of care
of patients. Prepares equipment and supplies and assists providers
with treatment and examination of patients. Carries out physicians’
orders accurately and in a timely manner. Accurately and
appropriately documents patient care, procedures and treatments.
Develop, implement and evaluate individualized treatment plans
using evidence-based practice. Provides direct patient care
according to established standards of care. Recognizes legal
implications of patient care by obtaining appropriate consents.
Fosters a culture of teamwork by participating in orientation of
new personnel, unit-based team meetings and in-service trainings.
Participates and completes special projects, floats to other SPMC
departments as needed and other duties as assigned. Organizational
Responsibilities In addition to the duties and responsibilities
listed above, all employees are expected to support the Summit

policies and procedures; and conduct themselves in an ethical,
professional, respectful, and collaborative manner at all times.
Required Education and Experience Graduated from an accredited
school of nursing. At least two years of RN experience in providing
wound and ostomy care. Bachelor’s degree, preferred. Required
Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations Current and
unrestricted Washington State Nursing license Current BLS
certification ACLS, within 6 months of hire. Certified Wound,
Ostomy and Continence Nurse (WOCN). Required Knowledge, Skills,
Abilities Working knowledge of nursing procedures and functions.
Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply age specific
principles of growth and development and life stages to meet each
patient’s needs. Respects patient’s right to privacy, protects
confidential information following HIPAA standards and maintains
accountability for patient safety. Knowledge of the organization,
functions and activities of the nursing unit. Ability to organize
and prioritize assigned work in coordination with other activities
on the unit. Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to read, write and speak the English language. Ability to
communicate and document information accurately and legibly.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Proficient in the
use of current technology, including Microsoft Office products.
Ability to learn and effectively use electronic medical records and
other systems and equipment. Physical Requirements The position
requires lifting between 0–35 pounds on an occasional basis
(approximately 10–30% of the time). Lifting more than 35 pounds is
required frequently (about 30–70% of the time). Carrying loads
between 0–35 pounds occurs occasionally , while carrying loads
greater than 35 pounds is required frequently . Pushing and pulling
activities are performed occasionally during the workday. The job
involves sitting occasionally . Standing and walking are required
on a constant basis (more than 70% of the time). Bending and
stooping occur frequently , while crouching is required
occasionally . Reaching and grasping are performed on a constant
