Job Description:
We are looking for a seasoned Data Engineer Manager to join the
Manufacturing Operations, Transportation Operations, and Re:Cycle
(MOTOR) organization in support of our Supply Chain Intelligence
team. MOTOR manages the manufacturing of datacenter racks and the
movement of racks/parts through the supply chain, consisting of
transportation, warehousing, and reverse logistics into and out of
the data centers. This role will lead a new team of junior and
mid-level Data Engineers and Business Intelligence Engineers
responsible for connecting the different systems across the supply
chain together so operational teams have clean, actionable data to
work with. The ideal candidate excels in soft skills necessary to
help the team form, establish its business rhythms, and begin
delivering results. They must enjoy training, mentoring, and
growing subordinates while working with large volumes of data in a
global, highly complex technical context. On the technical side,
the candidate must be passionate about data and analytics. They
must be an expert working with data modeling with un/structured
data, ingestion pipelines and ETL design, and business intelligence
tools to identify strategic opportunities where improvements in
data infrastructure creates out-sized business impact. They must be
a self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity, able to think big
(while paying careful attention to detail), and mentors other
engineers on data engineering best practices. Key job
responsibilities - Lead and manage a team of junior and mid-level
data engineers and business intelligence engineers - Establish team
business practices, roles and responsibilities, and professional
development opportunities - Build and maintain the data
infrastructure to answer business questions with data using data
engineering best practices - Define the data engineering processes
that leverage various AWS services to improve accessibility,
redundancy, data integrity, cost, and storage requirements. -
Collaborate with Data Engineers, Business Intelligence Engineers,
Data Scientists, Business Analysts, and Product/Program Managers to
understand the business and technical requirements, and make
decisions that help make the products/programs smoother. -
Interface with other technology/data engineering teams to extract,
transform, and load data from a wide variety of data sources using
and AWS data technologies. - Lead the technical design and
implementation of the data infrastructure. - Design and manage data
audit, quality, and reconciliation processes in collaboration with
various stakeholders. A day in the life With a global supply chain
supporting 123 Availability Zones within 39 Geographic Regions,
data is everywhere. Your purpose is to develop and implement the
digital strategy for supply chain operations, working across
manufacturing, logistics, facilities, and supply chain planning
organizations. You will heavily influence make vs buy decisions for
applications, system architectures/design, and master data
management strategies. About the team This team provides data
engineering and business intelligence engineering services to the

massively parallel technology (such as Redshift, Teradata, Netezza,
Spark or Hadoop based big data solution) experience - 2 years of
relational database technology (such as Redshift, Oracle, MySQL or
MS SQL) experience - 2 years of developing and operating
large-scale data structures for business intelligence analytics
(using ETL/ELT processes) experience - 5 years of data engineering
experience - Experience managing a data or BI team - Experience
communicating to senior management and customers verbally and in
writing - Experience leading and influencing the data or BI
strategy of your team or organization - Experience in at least one
modern scripting or programming language, such as Python, Java,
Scala, or NodeJS - Experience with big data technologies such as:
Hadoop, Hive, Spark, EMR - Experience with AWS Tools and

this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include
sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final
compensation will be determined based on factors including
experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon also offers
