This position is responsible for maintaining inventory records in the ERP system, managing part inventory parameters, coordinating material readiness for production, and driving continuous improvements in inventory control. Working closely with procurement, receiving, shipping, material handling, and production teams, the Inventory Coordinator helps optimize material flow, prevent stockouts and enhance overall efficiency.Duties & ResponsibilitiesMaintain and update part records in the ERP systemSupport regular cycle counts and reconcile discrepanciesInvestigate and resolve inventory inaccuracies through root cause analysisImplement corrective actions to prevent recurring inventory issuesAudit inventory transactions to monitor material shortages or excesses affecting production schedulesGenerate and analyze inventory reports to identify trends and opportunities for improvementTrack and report key inventory metrics such as turns, accuracy, and obsolescenceMaintain documentation related to inventory movements and adjustmentsEstablish and maintain appropriate parameters, such as safety stock, reorder points, and lead timesCollaborate with procurement and production planning to align inventory levels with demand forecastsContinuously optimize stocking strategies to improve efficiency and reduce carrying costsRecommend process improvements to enhance inventory accuracy and efficiencyWork with cross-functional teams to standardize inventory control proceduresOther duties as assignedRequirements:Requirements3+ years of experience in inventory control, material management, or related fieldStrong understanding of inventory management principles and supply chain processesProficiency in ERP/MRP systemsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to collaborate across departments and communicate effectivelyEffective communication skills, both written and verbalExperience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies is a plusPhysical Requirements/Work EnvironmentThis position requires moderate physical activity, primarily in an office environment but will include time on the production floor to collaborate and inspect materials. To perform the essential functions of this job, the employee is regularly seated at a computer desk with the option to stand, is utilizing a phone frequently and participating in meetings with colleagues, clients, third party vendors, etc. There are stairs in the office.
